When I wake up every morning and think about all of my problems and issues, I realize that I am living in the future way too much. One of the biggest problems I have is worrying about things that haven't happened yet, or really may not even happen. As humans, we tend to spend a lot of our time worrying and miss out on so many things due to the severe anxiety that is built up in our bodies.

Waking up every morning is a blessing. If you are one that wakes up every day and the first thing on your mind is a problem or an issue you may have, then I highly suggest you begin to rethink the way you are living and start to live in the present as much as possible. Below are ten great tips that I live by to help me live more in the present.

10 Great Tips To Live More In The Present
1.) Disregard Your Bank Account.

This can be tough, especially if you struggle to pay bills and earn a below average salary. What you truly need to realize is that money doesn't buy happiness. I've realized that the more money I make, the less it becomes relevant to my overall happiness. I do agree money can buy freedom; however, it will not make you a happy person.

2.) Step Outside Of Your Comfort Zone.

This is crucial. Like most humans, we end up in a comfortable daily routine that we follow five to seven days a week. By stepping outside of your comfort zone and shocking your body, I truly believe this is one of the best ways to really live in the moment. Go out on a limb and try something you've never done before. I bet you will be happy once you do it.

3.) Keep A Goal List.

Any successful person will tell you that they always have a goal list. Whether it's for the day, week, or year, they follow up and cross items off as they complete them. By keeping a goal list, it allows you to set a goal, then conquer it and move onto the next one.

4.) Be A Minimalist.

This is probably the most important tip on the list for me. It is something that I truly embrace. By becoming a minimalist, I have began to cut out all of the things that I don't need in my life, and focus on only the bare essentials and what I need to survive and be happy. By doing this, I began to remove all of my unnecessary possessions and started to appreciate the little things in life that are most important to me such as love, nature, and freedom to name a few.

5.) Meditate Daily.

Sit down, take a deep inhale and exhale and ground yourself. By meditating I allow myself to connect my body to my thoughts and emotions. Whether you are feeling anxious, sad or lonely, meditating will help you find your inner-self and reflect upon your natural state of being.

6.) Listen To Music.

Music is one of the best ways to connect, and has the ability to get deep into our soul and bring out pure joy. Music makes me appreciate my life so much more, whether it's a live concert or a drive down the street. When listening to music, try and listen to artists that provoke a happy, positive message.

7.) Communicate Better.

By simply hearing the voice of a family member or friend it can truly raise our spirits. Communication allows you to be there for another person, feel wanted, and actually believe our lives are making in impact in others. This method also allows us to get out of a dark place or shed some loneliness.

8.) Spend Time In Nature.

The next time you are outside, stop and take a look at what's around you and reflect on the natural beauty that exists, and is so present in our daily lives. Whether it's going on a nature walk, hike, or a bike ride, take some time and reflect on the happiness that nature can truly bring you.

9.) Forget The Past.

Let's face it, we all go through tough times, tough relationships, and issues that really damage our mind and body. The sooner we can forgive and move on from these things, the quicker we can get back to the lives that we should be living. By failing to forgive, we fail to move forward and truly live in the present and be in the moment.

10.) Spread Your Love.

Try and do something nice for someone every single day. You wouldn't believe the satisfaction you'll receive from a single act of kindness, like holding the door open for someone. With that said, give as much as you can. Whether it be smiling, or giving to the needy, or complimenting a total stranger; it feels incredible to spread your love.
