The Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) is the type of cholesterol responsible for clogging the arteries of adults and causing heart failure. However, HDL removes LDL from the bloodstream, improving people's overall health. The most common source of HDL is Omega-3 fatty acids which are commonly found in fish like mackerel and salmon. Fish oil supplements are rich in these acids and they been proven to decrease the amount of LDL in the arteries.

Prolonged exposure to the sun can decrease the skin's vitamin C levels by 50%. Fortunately, vitamin C is available as a supplement and can be found within citrus fruit.

One of the biggest factors contributing to the obesity of Americans is mood eating. This is the act of eating to address emotional distress. The main cause of mood eating is a hormone known as cortisol. The body produces cortisol in response to stress and it causes people to believe they are hungry when they are not.

Garcinia Cambogia supplements block the production of cortisol, reducing the likelihood of people eating in response to stress. Cambogia also blocks the body's ability to digest fat so it passes through the system without getting added to the waistline. Garcinia Cambogia is one of the more recent natural supplement discoveries.

There are other supplements which are vital to the health of adults but the previous three are daily vitamins every adult should be taking. Many major, medical threats can be avoided by arming the body with the proper tools to defeat them. A strenuous lifestyle prevents many people from eating a balanced diet but vitamin supplements can arm the body with the essential tools it needs. Of course, it remains wise for anyone to consult a physician before beginning a vitamin regimen. It is important to ensure any new supplements will not adversely react with current prescriptions.

Each supplement should only be taken in doses recommended by the manufacturer to prevent other complications. Lastly, you shouldn't rely on just vitamins to keep you healthy. A healthy diet with regular exercise and plenty of water is highly recommended for optimal health.
